Laura was great to write a few words about her day and I hope this helps Brides to be.

From the second I woke up on August 27th 2016 everything was perfect – I woke about 6:30am to shower and when I looked out the window it had the makings of a beautiful day. The sun was out in its entirety from early morning and all the windows in my mother’s house were wide open to let the calm air in.

From the screams in our house as the 3 bridesmaids woke “YOUR GETTING MARRIED TODAY LAURA” to the smell of my mother making tea in the kitchen – I will never forget a single second of that morning and just how special it was getting ready to go to the church and marry my best friend.

My mother had a beautiful locket made with a picture of my grandparents on it, she tied it to my bouquet the morning of our wedding and let me know that my grandparents will be with us on our special day. It was very special to have a piece of heaven with us on our special day.

My dress was quite literally the dress of my dreams, satin and organza – I loved it. I did admittedly get the feeling that it was “the one” the second I tried it on in Eden Manor Enniscorthy. I had the privilege of being looked after by the owner Hilda Kavanagh and what a lady she is. She knew the second she saw me that she had the perfect dress for me and my God was she right.

Buying my dress from Hilda was such an experience, it lived up to my very high expectations from Champagne fittings to teaching me how to hold myself and walk in the dress it was a real fairy-tale moment.

My favourite moment in our wedding day was seeing Brian at the top of the aisle – he looked so handsome in his navy and tweed suit, he was smiling and a tear glistened in his eye. He looked as happy as I felt. l could have just burst with love and pride at that very moment.

I walked up the aisle to “thousand years part II” by Christina Perry and the words couldn’t have been any more perfect “The day we met, frozen I held my breath, right from the start I knew that I’d found a home for my heart”.  Andrea Ruth Houlihan sang such a beautiful rendition of it, I had goose bumps it was a moment I won’t forget too easily.

Our theme was adventure as we love to travel and experience life. Our table names where the names of some of the places we have visited together and loved. Our table plan was done on individual luggage labels tied on string and presented in a suitcase – the suitcase belonged to Brian’s great grandfather and is over one hundred years old. We had a spectacular cake table which complimented the theme, our friend Caroline O’Callaghan from My Little Cake Company put this masterpiece together.

To us the day was perfect – everything from start to finish exceeded all our expectations, the moments we got to spend alone on such a momentous day are stored in a special place in both our hearts. From getting pictures taking together as a newly married couple to the drive from Clonmel to Kilkenny in Brian’s dad’s vintage car sipping on champagne, kissing and trying to take it all in were magic moments.

My advice to any bride and groom would be to work with professionals and trust them. They know what they are doing, they have done this more times than you so listen to what they have to say. We trusted all the suppliers who were part of our wedding and it added to the day because we had a good relationship built up with them through the planning.

Choosing McMahon Studios was one of the best decisions of our entire wedding – for a day as special as our wedding day, a day filled with so many special moments some that go by in the blink of an eye – it means so much to have these special moments captured and what is more captured through the eyes of a pro.

Hilda and Grace were the perfect team, the right amount of professional and fun. Looking back at our pictures, one particularly of my mum and I before heading to the church we shared a really special moment I don’t even remember the camera being near us – and now I have a still image of that moment to treasure forever.
Thanks Hilda x
